about

Hello! I am so glad that you are here!

I am Yvonne: Artist, Creator, Maker behind yvonne nangle art creations

For many years, my professional life was defined by rules, precision, and compliance. I worked in hospitals across Ontario, calling on oncologists in environments where accuracy mattered and structure was essential. There was little room for anything unplanned or spontaneous.

Yet alongside that world of protocols and expectations, I was always drawing. I doodled constantly, in notebooks, in margins, on whatever paper was nearby. It was the one place where there were no rules to follow and no outcomes to measure. Those early marks were loose and uncontained, a quiet refusal to stay neatly inside the lines. Now I have the space to take those small margin drawings and give them a place on canvas.

That shift led to Escaping the Vase, my ongoing series of abstract floral paintings. The flowers are intentionally not contained. They push past their vases, spread outward, are unruly, and refuse to behave. They are bold, graphic, colourful, and unapologetically quirky. They are meant to be seen.

I start each painting by doodling directly on the canvas. It sets the direction. From there I use painted paper collage and acrylic paint to create colour, contrast, and strong composition. Each piece is carefully resolved while keeping the spontaneity of those first marks.

I create original abstract floral paintings that bring colour, energy, and personality to your home. These are not background pieces. They shift the feeling of a room the moment you walk in. They draw people in. They make you smile on an ordinary Tuesday.

If bold colour makes you happy, you’re in the right place.

There is always something new in bloom.

My collectors choose art for their homes that reflects who they are, not just what feels safe or expected.

Artistic Style: My art is characterized by its simplicity and an emphasis on bold, uplifting colors. Doodling is at the heart of my creative process, and it lends an air of whimsy and spontaneity to each piece.

Artistic Influences: My family's artistic background and their passion for self-expression have profoundly influenced my creative journey. My art has also been influenced by the works of modern abstract artists, including Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse and the graphic collage style of Eric Carle

Viewer Reactions: Frequently, viewers of my art say that it evokes happiness and positive emotions. It is very rewarding to create work that inspires a joyful response.
